After Kolmanskop we were off to the Sesriem region as we were to visit Sossusvlei the day after. Enroute we stopped over in Helmeringhausen for some apple cake, apparently the best in Namibia (though I personally have eaten better ones).
At the Hammerstein Lodge Sesriem, where we stayed for the night (a very short night) some of us did a "cat walk" to a neighbouring property where you could get close to some big cats.
I am normally no fan of such places but apparently these animals were often captured as babies and cannot be returned to the wild anymore.

It also felt a bit like a rip off. Did not pay that much but for what I got it was definitely too expensive.
Yes, it is certainly quite impressive to get close to a cheetah or a caracal as we got but I would not spend money on it again.
What was ludicrous though that some people from a another toiur party proved that they were the most dangerous animals being totally misbehaving showing no respect to actual animals.
