Theme of the day with being in the Drakensberge was hiking.
Really looked forward to the day after not moving around much in the days before with all that time on the coach and just getting off for a couple of stops.

After a good breakfast some from our group were off on a guided (by an authorised local guide who not only could tell us so much about the paintings but also about the nature, etc of the area) morning hike to some old paintings from the San people, some thousands years old.
The tour was not challenging but still a good walk - just when getting to the paintings we had to climb up and down a rather steep path. Getting up was not too much an issue, getting down.... Well but with some help we all managed and the paintings were worth it!

In the afternoon a few more people from our group were off on another (unguided this time but as our travel guide had known the path we didn't need one) hike to a water fall through the primary forest behind the hotel.
It was an good walk. It had the odd challenging bits with the steeper paths though nothing too high in general and the path was very interesting with crossing a river several times, seeing all kind of plants, trees, a few animals, even if the destination, the water fall, was nothing spectacular.
A great day hiking in total around 20km - I sooooo deserved the dinner at the end of the day! Pizza again for me. ;-)
